A logo update should not cost $299.
One dev went through his wallet and found 6,877 USDC paid to DexScreener: 23 payments of $299, to change a logo and some links. Every launch, the replies fill up with “pay dex”, and terminals flash “DEX PAID” as if paying were proof of anything. It is a tax on launching.
What changes
On Dex Trencher the dev who launched the token sets its info for free. They sign one message with the creator wallet. We check that wallet against the chain, publish the info and mark the token Dev verified.
That badge means something a payment never did: it was set by the person who launched it. Anyone can read it through the open API.
